C4C benefit for this month is Gear Up for Success:
"Our team was formed in May of 2014 after hearing the results of the climate audit at Cumberland. The consultants from Administrator Assistance shared feedback detailing that we needed to engage in professional development with regard to children and families living in poverty. Sara Delaney was given the opportunity by principal Kim Bowers to move forward with the idea of Gearing Up for Success. The idea behind the team was to provide low-income families with direct connections to staff members in their own communities, supplies necessary for school success, and an avenue for connecting with the school. The secondary goal was to provide professional development for working with families living with limited resources."
