Speaker: Jody Tishmack

Patrick and Jody Tishmack have powered their home with solar energy since 2012. Solar PV energy technology is clean, safe, and cost effective. Renewable energy can make your home more sustainable, help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and control the cost of utilities. Having your own energy supply offers you energy security and peace of mind. Jody will discuss their family’s decision to install solar PV energy and how they plan to help other families in our community do the same as leaders of the Greater Lafayette Solarize Indiana team.

Jody Tishmack received a PhD in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. While a graduate student at Purdue she developed a soil-making process and over the last 20 years has grown it into a local business called Soilmaker. In addition to running a successful business she is also very interested in energy conservation, local food production and sustainable living. She and her family live in an earth berm home powered by solar energy. Jody and her husband, Patrick, lead the Solarize Indiana team for Lafayette.
