OWL (Our Whole Lives) Program
OWL is a comprehensive sexual education program that spans all ages. All facilitators are trained through the UUA to provide interactive workshops and lessons to engage participants. Some of the many benefits include:
- providing honest and accurate information
- dismantling stereotypes and assumptions
- building self-acceptance and self-esteem
- fostering healthy relationships
- improving decision making
Grades K-1: Supports parents in educating children about birth, babies, bodies and families
Grades 4-6: Focuses on learning about and discussing the physical and emotional changes of puberty.
Grades 7-9: A sexuality education program for youth that models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. A holistic program that moves beyond the intellect to address the attitudes, values, and feelings that youth have about themselves and the world.
Grades 10-12: Using a comprehensive approach, this program helps senior-high youth gain the knowledge, life principles and skills they need to express their sexuality in life-enhancing ways.
Young adult/adult: Using values, communication skills and spirituality as starting points, this program explores sexuality issues for adults of all ages. Builds understanding of healthy sexual relationships, affirms diversity and helps participants accept and affirm their own sexuality throughout their lives.
OWL Calendar
- Fall 2019: 7th-9th Grade
- Spring 2020: 10th-12th Grade
- Fall 2020: Adult
- Spring 2021: K-1st Grade and 4th-6th Grade
