Please join us for “Beyond Kettle and Bell - The Salvation Army,” an in-person service or Virtual service via Zoom at www.uuctc.org/sunday at 10:30am. Our Order of Service is available at www.uuctc.org/oos. [Speaker: Janice Kritchevsky] Almost everybody is familiar with the Salvation Army members who ring bells and collect donations for charity around the holidays. But did you know they are a religion? The Salvation Army is a religion that prioritizes service and reaching out to those forgotten by society. With its focus on social justice, it has a great deal in common with Unitarian Universalism. However, there are other aspects that are very different. This sermon will introduce the Salvation Army and will also discuss more generally how we can find common cause with others who hold very different beliefs.
