Speaker: Sue Scholer

Sue Scholer retired from the Indiana House of Representatives in 2004 after serving 26 years in elected office at the Township, County and State levels.  Beginning in 1994 she served in leadership positions in the House and was Assistant Minority Leader at the time of her retirement.

Sue served on numerous legislative & professional committees including the Education Roundtable, National Commission for the High School Senior Year, Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, and House committees on Education, Roads & Transportation and Environmental Affairs.  She was a member of Women In Government, NCSL, and the Council of State Governments, serving a term as Chair of the Midwest Legislative Conference.

Community involvement has included serving as the Tippecanoe County Coordinator for the Indiana Bicentennial, on the Family Services Board, Area Plan Commission, Veterans Home Advisory Committee and United Way.  Current activities Purdue Women’s Club, PEO, Tri Kappa, League of Women Voters, Purdue Retirees and WLGCC Ladies 18 Hole Golf.  Current appointments find Sue serving on the Haan Museum of Indiana Art Board, West Lafayette Economic Development Commission, SIA Foundation Board and the Indiana Lobby Registration Commission.

Sue and her husband Chuck, Civil Engineering Professor Emeritus, enjoy spending time at their lake cottage in Putnam County and travel, including trips and visits to see their three children and nine grandchildren.
